NBA: Jamison heads to Cavs in 3-team deal

The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Antawn Jamison from the Washington Wizards last night in a three-team trade that sent forward Drew Gooden to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Washington received veteran Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, a 2010 first-round pick and the rights to Emir Preldzic (a second round in last year's draft) from Cleveland.

The Wizards also received forward Al Thornton from Los Angeles. Cleveland received guard Sebastian Telfair from the Clippers.

The Cavaliers were looking for one more big forward to bolster their front line as they make a run at an NBA championship. Jamison, 33, is averaging 20.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.

Salmons misses game. John Salmons was not at the Chicago Bulls game at New York, with coach Vinny Del Negro saying he was told to leave the guard at the team hotel.

That would indicate Chicago was close to trading Salmons, with the league's deadline coming this afternoon.

Salmons, a Plymouth Whitemarsh High graduate, is scheduled to make $5.8 million next season if he doesn't opt out of his contract.

Milicic to Minnesota. The Knicks traded Darko Milicic to the Minnesota Timberwolves for forward Brian Cardinal.

The Timberwolves also received cash considerations in the deal that was completed last night.

The 24-year-old Milicic is heading to his fifth NBA team.

Stoudemire moving? The agent for Phoenix' Amar'e Stoudemire said he expected the all-star power forward to be traded by today's deadline.
