The last-minute replacing of Chris Golightly with Tim Urban may be the biggest controversy to come out of American Idol's Top 24 announcement, but it's certainly not the only one. At least three other obviously strong performers got left behind tonight -- sometimes in favor of singers who had iffier Hollywood performances.
Thaddeus Johnson is probably wondering what he could possibly have done -- short of becoming a thin white boy who forgets his lyrics -- to have earned a spot in the Top 24. And who really thinks that Haeley Vaughn is better prepared for the competition ahead than Angela Martin? And, while we're at it, Tori Kelly seemed to have everything she needed: Was the competition among the women really so strong this year that she was only the 13th or 14th best?
