Patriots of Gillespie County Sponsored Sheriff Richard Mack Events in Fredericksburg, TX

Building upon the nation’s call to return to the principles that our country was founded upon, the Patriots of Gillespie County sponsored two educational events in Fredericksburg which began on Saturday, February 6 when the group hosted approximately 350 guests at the Hangar Hotel Convention Center. Representatives from Patriots of Gillespie County, NRA, TSRA’s President, Oath Keepers’ Founder and the President of the Fredericksburg Tea Party were on hand to meet, greet and disseminate information about each group.

Founder and director of Oath Keepers, Stewart Rhodes, opened the program by explaining his association’s membership, goals and their newest outreach opportunity "Family Safe." Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath that they have sworn to the Constitution.

Key -note speaker, Sheriff Richard Mack, then addressed the audience with humor and intelligence as he communicated the dangers of the ever encroaching Federal government. Sheriff Mack is a tireless defender of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and since winning a Supreme Court decision against the Brady Bill, has no tolerance for the loss of American liberties so evident in our everyday life.

On February 9th, Sheriff Mack presented "The Constitution for Peace Officers" to Sheriffs and/or Sheriff Deputies from Concho, Gillespie, Nacogdoches, Blanco and Kerr counties. Fredericksburg’s police department was represented by Police Chief Paul Oestreich and several others within the department. Police from Marble Falls, Johnson City, and Constables from Gillespie and Uvalde Counties were in attendance. The seminar also welcomed retired police as well. Thomas Kerss, President of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas and Sheriff of Nacogdoches County joined the participants to hear and discuss the powers granted to the Sheriff’s office. Sheriff Mack’s curriculum and power-point presentation emphasized the responsibility of all peace officers’ Oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Attendees expressed unanimous approval of the content and relevance of the seminar, prompting "Patriots" to begin planning future seminar opportunities.
