Oath Keepers’: The oath keepers, An association of conscientious army men!

Here’s a non –profit organization, comprising current and veteran American army men, reserves, National Guard, Peace Officers and Fire Fighters, which seeks to live up to the tall tenets and standards of the American Constitution, on oath.

Titled ‘Oath Keepers’, this is essentially a non –profit organization that advocates that its members (current and former US military troops) uphold their oath of enlistment to the US Constitution. They claim to be non-partisan, but are working with the conservative 9-12 Project to promote the National Liberty Unity Summit.

The Oath Keepers’ motto is ‘Not on our watch!’, and their stated objective is to resist, non-violently, those actions taken by the US Government that it believes overstep constitutional boundaries.

And just to lay a further sense of the genesis of this non –profit organization and the standards and beliefs that it seeks to espouse and propagate, The Oath Keepers were originally founded on March 2009 by Stewart Rhodes in Lexington, Massachusetts, but incorporated in Las Vegas, Nevada as a Non-Profit Corporation.

Rhodes is a Yale Law School graduate, and former US Army paratrooper and Congressman Ron Paul staffer. The Oath Keepers as a group have grown to include chapters in many states across America.

In fact, the web portal of this organization, called www. oathkeepers.org/oath, seeks to promote their cause with the following words;

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of likeminded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution.

Given the cause that they seek to espouse, all conscientious citizens of the nation ought to link themselves with the same.
